MIT – Multilayer Impression Tray
MULTILAYER IMPRESSION TRAY
MIT is an impression material patented by Major. It is made of a light-curing resin layer, a transparent film and a wax sheet 4 mm thick. The material is dipped in warm water (60°C) to have it malleable, afterwards it is fitted to a standard Schreinemakers impression tray of the most correct dimension and inserted in the oral cavity for the impression taking. After some seconds the cooled material can be taken out from the oral cavity and put into the Major UV Light Cure Unit (3/5 minutes) to obtain the resin’s polymerization. After the polymerization the resins’s layer is removed from the impression tray and it is finished. In this way we have a precise impression tray.
